About TNU

Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit, AU

Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit (TNU) is part of Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University and is located at Aarhus University Hospital Risskov.

TNU carries out translational neuropsychiatric research, particularly focusing on human and animal experimental studies. TNU furthermore provides an interdisciplinary collaborative research environment ensuring fruitful research interaction with the clinical psychiatric research departments in Risskov. Our research ranges from basic neurobiological science to clinically oriented investigation of neuropsychiatric disorders.

Our overall goal is to understand the brain neurobiology and to facilitate development of new therapeutics, particularly targeting mood and psychotic disorders.

A major research resource in TNU is the world’s probably largest brain collection comprising brains from patients diagnosed with a wide range of different psychiatric disorders.
