Arthur Alves Coelho joins TNU as PhD student
We are pleased to welcome Arthur Alves Coelho as a PhD student at TNU from 1 January 2026.
Arthur first joined TNU in 2022, when he completed an internship in our research unit. He later obtained his MSc in Pharmacology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
During the Pre-PhD year, he undertook three lab rotations at the Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, and in the Kermen Lab at the University of Copenhagen. Arthur has been affiliated with TNU since September 2025, preparing his PhD proposal and studies under the Neuroscience Academy Denmark (NAD) Fellowship programme.
From 1 January 2026, he will formally begin his PhD at TNU, supported by a fully funded NAD PhD Fellowship.
His project, “Genomic and circuit mechanisms of psilocybin effects in engram encoding within a genetic model of PTSD–depression comorbidity,” will be supervised by Gregers Wegener, with co-supervision by Taro Kitazawa, Allan Young, and Lia Parada Iglesias.
