Beaquant Real-Time Autoradiography

Through close and longstanding collaboration with the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET Center at Aarhus University Hospital, we are conducting radioligand binding studies.
The equipment can be found at the PET Preclinical Facility at Aarhus University Hospital

Why we use it

• Enables high-performance, real-time digital autoradiography for rapid and accurate imaging of radiolabeled samples

• Offers high resolution (down to 20 µm), shorter exposure times than traditional autoradiography methods, and enhanced sensitivity- ideal for research involving low radioactivity levels

• Capable of imaging alpha and beta particles simultaneously

• A wide range of 3H-labeled ligands targeting molecular targets is commercially available, supporting diverse investigations without the need for an on-site cyclotron or specialised radiochemistry expertise

Applications in neuroscience and drug development

• Visualising and quantifying the distribution of radiolabeled compounds in fresh-frozen brain tissue

• Investigating of the localization and binding of neurotransmitters, receptors, and other molecular targets

• Assessing brain function, mapping disease progression, and evaluating the effects of potential therapies

• Supporting drug discovery by enabling the evaluation of drug-target interactions and pharmacokinetics of novel compounds
