Global Voices, Local Impact: A Day of Translational Excellence in Psychiatry
Distinguished researchers from Sydney, Halifax, Oxford, Cambridge, London, Berlin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, and Aarhus gathered on 19 June to share groundbreaking insights spanning preclinical, clinical, and translational psychiatry.

Through a rich program of workshops and talks, the speakers explored a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders and treatment paradigms - challenging conventional diagnostic frameworks and therapeutic approaches.
Furthermore, professor Gin Malhi, Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Psychiatry, emphasized the critical importance of scientific integrity in mental health research. He referenced the recent editorial “Truthful communication of mental science: pledge to our patients and profession,” underscoring the responsibility to publish the truth.
The symposium also fostered vibrant networking - particularly during the poster exhibition, which showcased a wide array of psychiatric research. Researchers, clinical professionals, and mental health enthusiasts from Aarhus University and Central Denmark Region Psychiatry exchanged ideas and built connections that lay a strong foundation for continued and future collaborations.
To conclude the day on a festive note, the poster prize was awarded to Kristine Johannessen for her innovative and visually engaging project, which was praised for its clarity and depth.
Representing the poster evaluation committee, Oskar Jefsen highlighted the project’s broad appeal: "which is very important on a day like this because we have a very diverse audience."
It is precisely this diversity of perspectives that strengthens the symposium’s impact and relevance.
A heartfelt thank you to all who participated - especially the speakers - and to The Lundbeck Foundation for their generous support.
We look forward to welcoming everyone again next year:
